Typically my drink of choice is a vodka soda with a lime…Tito’s Vodka to be specific. I know, how basic b*tch am I with my vodka soda? I just can’t do sugary drinks, they bother my stomach and actually make me feel worse the next morning. However, natural sugar I can do; fresh fruit muddled into a cocktail or a light splash of grapefruit juice is very refreshing. I go with Titos not only because it’s gluten free, but because it’s smooth and tastes delicious by itself or mixed into a cocktail.

Watermelon, Mint & Vodka Refresher – makes one 6 oz cocktail

  • 5 small pieces of chopped watermelon (black seeds removed)
  • 4 mint leaves
  • 1 shot vodka of your choice
  • 3 oz. lime seltzer water
  • 4 ice cubes
  • optional: 1-2 teaspoons of sugar

Add the watermelon and mint to the cocktail shaker. Use a muddler or wooden spoon to muddle the watermelon and mint together. Optional: if you want to add a little sugar, add it during this process. The watermelon will be slightly chunky and that’s okay. You can always strain the juice if you prefer, but I like the mixture a little chunky.

Pour in your vodka and lime seltzer water. Add your ice and shake it up! Pour and enjoy.
