Dee’s Maple Bacon Gluten Free Donuts
Makes 8 large donuts
- 4 tablespoons of butter room temperature
- 1/3 cup maple syrup
- 3 eggs
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup brown rice flour
- 1.5 cups almond flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- Coconut oil spray
Glaze & Bacon Ingredients
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 1 cup confectionary sugar
- 1 cup bacon pieces (neutral oil to sauté bacon in)
- Wilton® 6-Cavity Doughnut Pan
In your mixing bowl, mix together your soften butter, vanilla, maple syrup and eggs. If you are using an electric or standing mixer, mix together on medium speed for just a few minutes.
In a separate bowl combine the baking soda, brown rice flour and almond flour. Use a fork or sifter to combine all of the dry ingredients together. This is an important step in the baking process. Once your dry ingredients are combined, pour it into your wet mixture and mix all together for a few minutes.
Pre heat your oven to 350 degrees.
Although I am using a non-stick pan, I always spray my pan. Using a spatula, fill a pipping bag with your batter. If you don’t have a pipping bag, you could always cut the end of a plastic bag. This just helps your evenly fill you donut pan.
Bake for 8-10 minutes.
Bacon & Glaze
Cut your bacon strips into small pieces and crisp up in a pan on the stove. Remove to paper towel to drain excess fat.
Heat up a sauté pan on medium heat. Melt butter into the maple syrup, and whisk often adding the confectionary sugar.
Remove from heat and immediately dip each donut, followed by bacon pieces.
