New products, services, restaurants, ingredients, stores, workouts, etc. are popping up all over the place, and I want to share them with you all! My friend Emily suggested that I start pulling together a monthly recap that would highlight all of these new discoveries. Thanks Em, for the great suggestion.
At the end of every month, I’m going to share my top picks. Maybe it will be a new restaurant that I tried, a new place I went for a hike, or maybe it will be these amazing macaroons from WholeFoods I can’t stop eating….hint hint. Anyways, the best way to learn about something ‘new’ (or just new to me) is word of mouth. I’ve learned about so many new gluten free and paleo products thanks to my friend Em, so now I’m going to do the same with y’all.
Dee Dee’s Top Picks: March
Hail Merry Caramel Sea Salt Macaroons: These little macaroons are absolutely delicious – I can’t help but eat the whole bag. There are a variety of flavors, but the CSS seems to be my favorite. If you are having guests over, throw a few bags of these in a bowl and serve! And just by reading the ingredients, you can feel good about what you are eating: organic maple syrup, organic shredded coconut, almond flour, organic extra virgin coconut oil, organic palm sugar from sustainable farms, organic Madagascar vanilla, sea salt.
16 oz Detoxifier Juice from WholeFoods: I wrote a few weeks back about the pre-pressed juice you can grab and go at WholeFoods, but if you didn’t already know, they also have a juice bar where they can make you almost any type of juice you want. My favorite is the Detoxifier on their menu. It has apple, beets, etc. I get a 16 oz, but in a 24 oz cup with ice. Lets just say, this detoxifier does its job.
Laughing Tree Organics Lavender & Rosehip Daily Moisturizer: I recently attended an event at Whole Foods where they had local entrepreneurs talk about their clean/green beauty products. I walked away with a few samples, and my favorite so far is definitely the moisturizer from Laughing Tree Organics. It feels absolutely wonderful on my skin, and really feels like the product is going deep into my skin. (Photo from Laughing Tree Organics website)
Benriner Wide-Body Large Slicer: One of the best purchases ever! This slicer allows me to make the best sweet potatoes chips that I can’t stop eating (post coming soon on those). For $35, you can switch up your boring eating routine and create some really cool dishes. The other day I made shredded cabbage stir fry with steak. YUP – Amazing.
