I was in lululemon athletica at MarketStreet the other day making a post Christmas purchase 😉 and one of the employees told me about an upcoming Animal House Tabata class that was being held at the store that Sunday. I’ve done a little bit of tabata here and there in a few of my other classes, but I had never done a full class before. I wanted to challenge myself, and I’m so glad I did.
The class was taught by Janelle Nicolo of Body Ambition, who was an awesome instructor and coach. She made sure to walk around and check everyone’s form, as well as modify anything for anyone who may be working through an injury. Her positive attitude and enthusiasm made for a great high energy class.
For those who don’t know, tabata is a high intensity interval workout that lasts for four minutes. We did eight different exercises (eight times through), with 20 seconds on and 10 seconds rest. After each set, you recover for two minutes. What’s great is you are working all different muscles, so you truly get a full body workout.
